Astroploatation
Information
In space there are many Asteroids, just floating around. All Asteroids have a certain amounts of Gas (up to 200 000) on them, but they could also carry Scrap if they have passed through coordinates where there has been a Battle. There is no limit on the amount of Scrap an Asteroid can pull in. These deposits of Gas and Scrap can be harvested only by sending Recycler / Tanker / Recycle Drone and afterward recycled into pure Metal, Minerals or Gas.
You can harvest up to 50% of the present amount of Gas and 100% of the Scrap on the Asteroid with one Flight. There is a priority regarding taking resources: Gas is always taken first and Scrap is taken after it.
To have a successful Astroploatation, you must keep in mind the Asteroid's speed and current location and time needed for your fleet to arrive thus sending the flight to such coordinates that it would intersect the Asteroid. This means that if you send a recycling fleet to the current location of the Asteroid, it might have moved by the time the fleet arrives.
For Example:
Let’s say that the Asteroid’s stats are:
- Coordinates: 4:55:3
- Speed: 35 min/ field
- Next time-to-move: 2007-10-09 07:32:00
- And the current time is: 2007-10-09 07:30:00
This means that the Asteroid will move to the next field in 2 minutes. If your fleet will arrive in less than 2 minutes you can send them to the Asteroid’s current location. If not, you check the next field (the Asteroid will reach that field after 2 minutes and will leave it after 37 minutes, 2 minutes until it arrives + 35 needed to reach the next one). If your fleet will reach the field (4:55:4) in between 2 and 37 minutes your fleet will intercept the Asteroid on that field (4:55:4). If not, you check the next field (the Asteroid will reach that field after 37 minutes and will leave it after 72 minutes). If your fleet will reach the field (4:55:5) in between 37 and 72 minutes your fleet will intercept the Asteroid on that field. If not, you check the next field. And so on, and so on.
